Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he can eat for a life time.

Philosophy
According to Dr. Montessori, “Great care must be taken with the youngest of children for, during this first plane of development, there is in the child a special kind of sensitivity which leads him to absorb everything around him, and it is this work of observing and absorbing that alone enables him to adapt himself to life.” (Montessori, 1964)
I love the Montessori method of teaching! Just like the quote about teaching a man to fish, I want my classroom to be a place where children can learn to be independent and build a foundation of practical skills. So I created a pre-school that doesn't just teach academic lessons, but a school that has many hands-on activities and lessons to help the students learn life skills. Some of these skills include learning how to take care of their own hygiene, how to keep their environment organized, and how to show courtesy to others, just to name a few. I also strongly believe children learn best when they are happy and exploring their interests. I give students a lot of freedom to choose the activities that they would like to work on. Each child is different and is at a different stage in their learning. By giving them the freedom to choose certain activities. I can see where they are at a create individual lesson plans for each student rather than pushing each child to learn in the same way at the same pace.
